Verbum Patris was composed in 2002 for the choir of St. Mary's, Hendon and its musical director, Richard Morrison. It can be sung in English or the original Latin.
The text of Verbum Patris dates from at least the 13th century and is possibly even earlier. The music has the dancing rhythms of a Medieval carol.

Reviews
Verbum Patris reminded me of such carols as Walton's What Cheer? – and is none the worse for that. It's in the style of a Medieval carol and the lively rhythms are a delight.
