Since the first page of the work is an organ introduction, page 2 is displayed here, showing the first vocal entries
Programme Notes
This setting of the poem The Revival by Henry Vaughan (1622-1695) was composed in 2004 for performance at evensong at Winchester Cathedral where it was conducted by William Wingate. The work's subtitle is 'The Lilies of His Love', a phrase which suffuses the final ecstatic pages of the work, as the vocal parts overlap and enfold each other – much like the petals of a flower!
