Programme Notes
These are the same 'Flower Songs' as recorded on the Maxos Pigs Could Fly CD and are settings of poems by Robert Herrick (1591-1674). The music by Corp has an immediacy yet wistfulness that seem aptly to match the poetry’s playful and buoyant imagery of transience and loss - youthful days pass, life passes.

The songs are mostly in unison, with the third and fifth ones dividing into two parts.
